About us
Boreal Runners Club is a prominent long-standing bilingual running group serving Montreal and neighbouring communities. Founded over two decades ago, we welcome runners of all abilities. The club hosts its annual Boreal Cross-Country race at Parc Nature du Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard every fall.
The club operates a full calendar of weekly group runs with dedicated training plans tailored for 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and full marathon distances. Over the years, Boreal has established a strong local footprint, notably volunteering in the Montreal Half Marathon and Marathon races and routinely sending its members to major local and regional races.
Our year-round track training at Dalbe Viau Track in Lachine (summer) and Centre Claude-Robillard (winter) is a key advantage that distinguishes us from other running clubs.
Voices from our community
Joining a team that flies along on Saturdays is energizing! More than anything, we bond even when it’s hard to talk for lack of oxygen, whether from the cold or from pushing our limits. That shared effort is what makes every weekend morning so rewarding.

Boréal is much more than a running team; it’s truly my second family. It’s a pure joy every time I meet up with these wonderful people in running shoes, sharing kilometres and smiles in Montreal’s parks.
— Agnes D.
At 61, the Boréal Running Club has helped me get into the best shape of my life. Being surrounded by caring, passionate people who share the same love of running is truly motivating and inspiring. From 23 to 84 years old, we are a diverse group doing our best, respecting each other for who we are, and genuinely enjoying one another’s company.
— JC Calabro
I joined Boréal to meet other athletes who love the track. I found much more: lasting friendships and unforgettable experiences. That sense of belonging is exactly what makes this club so special to me as a runner in this vibrant city.
— Julie L.
Joining Boréal has been a transformative experience: my running has improved, my fitness has soared and I’ve had memorable moments of joy. It’s an incredible community where it’s easy to find partners for every pace and distance. Scheduled runs build a discipline that helps beat procrastination, especially for long early-morning runs. We explore new trails, share a coffee after the run and plan our seasons as a close-knit team. And of course, no session is complete without kudos on Strava! Warning: membership may lead to a surplus of shoes, endless race registrations and obsessive thoughts about running…
— Irina A.
Being Boréal means getting up early on weekends, in a heat wave or a deep freeze, to find a welcoming, determined group. We discover new ground over short and long distances. I’m nourished by my teammates’ life stories and their encouragement, which helps me push my limits.
— Claudia S.
