The Boreal Runners Club held their annual race at Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue on August 3rd and had yet another great event. The annual club race, which starts on the grounds of scenic John Abbott College, is one of the few races on the Circuit Endurance that offers a 20k race. The Défi Boreal Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue is the main race organized by the Boreal Runners Club for the local running community, and this year was the 36th edition, making it one of the longest-running races in the entire Circuit Endurance, second only to their Parc La Fontaine race.

Lots of fun AND some great racing at the Amica Marathon in Newport, Rhode Island

Posted October 16, 2012

The fall club marathon picked for 2012 was the Amica Marathon, which was held in Newport, Rhode Island on October 14, 2012. No fewer than 20 club members went down for the race weekend. For the occasion, the club subsidized the cost of a luxury coach which drove down most members leaving them free to enjoy the 7-hour drive. The day before the race, some of us went for a hike on the famous Cliff Walk which passes behind Newport's famous mansions, while others went for a harbour tour on an America's-Cup type of schooner. On race day, it was awesome to see so many of our red Boreal shirts on the scenic ocean-side course! (You can you see us in the photo at right near the front of the pack.) The whole experience was a great opportunity for club members to bond with one other AND to get in some great racing!
