Boreal Club

Eveything you need to know about how to join our club.

Boreal Running Buddies

Would you like to know more about our club or are you thinking of joining?

The Boreal Runners Club offers group running sessions three days a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Saturday mornings.

Mondays feature tempo runs, while Wednesday track sessions with our coach tend to focus on technique and speed work and Saturdays mornings are for our long, slow runs that build endurance.

Coach Javier Cuevas (at right) provides our members with three separate training plans depending on the distances that they run.

Javier is also available to work with us on personal running goals and how to help attain them as well as on improving our overall running form. We have members who have started with us as complete beginners (read Nicole's testimonial) as well as members who were already at a very high level of training and experience when they joined, (read Shawn's testimonial and Rich's testimonial) and Javier is adept at working with beginners and advanced runners alike.

New members all receive a sleeveless technical Boreal singlet so they can proudly wear the club colours at races they run with us. Did we mention that we have lots of fun improving our running times and technique in a spirit of self-supporting camaraderie?

Brian Price, New Member Liaison Officer

We invite you to try running with us first with no obligation to see if you'd like to join. Click on the "Training" link in the menu at the top of the page to see where and when you can meet us for a group run. Or just click on this link.

Brian Price (seen at left) is the liaison person for new and prospective members and he will be happy to help you and answer your questions. Have a look at some of the many races club members ran on our Members Results page.

We had an absolute blast running our official Club Half and Full Marathons in 2016. We ran the Levis Half-Marathon in the spring, and then the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in the fall, both of which were well attended by over twenty members. We also run in large numbers in the Circuit Endurance races in and around Montreal throughout the year.

If you decide to join, aside from the free singlet (seen at right), your very modest $125 per year membership fee will also give you free registration to our fall x-country race on Ile-Bizard as well as participation in our summer BBQ and big year-end party.
